Airplane Adventure #2

Today I was all planned with my bag of goodies, snacks, camera, warm clothes to take an adventure with pilots Steve and Brian to Sachs. This time to Sachs Harbour, we would be taking a crew up to do some work, then take them back again. Therefore would have time to che

ck out the town for about 4hrs, hence why I packed snacks. Got to the airport, had lunch, and waited. Got the news no flight to Sachs.. but instead we are going to Paulatuk. "Are you in?" Steve asked, "YES" i replied.

330pm off the ground into air via the classy red, white and black twin otter plane. ETA... 4:50. One hour and 20 minutes flying and no houses, no people, no nothing but cool crisp snow covering the unexplored land of the NWT. Watching out the window, you can see meandering river ways, small lakes, large lakes and hill sides. I personally think it is quite neat to think that all that is down there is animals. All that wide open space interests me. And still no polar bear to be seen.

I think i was singing the Dixie Chicks song.. Wide open spaces the whole way!!

Then we came into Paulatuk. Paulatuk is on the ocean, only about 300 people or less there. Yeah small place. Thanks to the wind pattern changing, we got to fly over the whole town and circle around. I was happy

The town maybe has ?? 50 houses or so.. Way the middle of no where.. hard to believe you have to fly in and fly out all the time.!!

So what did I do... Got up early, started out my day by going to the gym. Had a great workout then wandered back home to become Hallmark.. Card making day for friends. Then I went out to the mail box, and walked and walked. Felt great to get out of the house and walk. What a beautiful day!

I had a blast.. taking tacky pictures of me.. (oh gosh, I know you are all it). All these people are saying I am going to Cuba, I am going to Mexico, I am going to El Salvador... So I tried to get some sun up here. Sunbathing in the SNOW... Look at me go. For sure not a whole bod

It's so nice just to walk around and enjoy nature at its finest. There was no wind today so walking was not bad at all. Sunglasses were a must. That sun is bright, especially when all you see around is white stuff. I made my own tracks and went off the beaten path. Its good to be different every once in a while.

So all in all.. I had a great day off. Got to enjoy these days, and such beautiful weather. Oh I love the outdoors!!. But no worries I still have about 2 more months of WINTER. AHHH!!! (It's not all that bad- I still got things to do)

We did come close this game.. With a tied score at the end, and only one more round.. we only lost by 1 point.. close
We are still awaiting the invite to the next bonspel.

OH yeah.. we had coordination. Only Willie and I official team members, and our newly found Curling expert Brock... compliments of the North.. What a team. Thanks Brock for the Game!

The first full weekend of the Year off from work DONE!

What happened.. well as you can tell a whole lot of going out, chillin and couch holding down experiences. But I did get to the gym.. oh yes for all those who were aware I was "anti-gym" I have decided to change that fact. Yep I am a Red I-Pod Gym GoGoGirl.... and still the pool, as it really is a great way to relax.

So far.. Gym, Pool and Tan.. will that get me ready for my vacation in June.. I think so!!

Yes the weekend is kind of a blurr.. Out both nights, late all because I said to Willie Lets do this weekend up. And we did complete Inuvik Style.. Just ask willie about her White-haired wonder on Saturday night (haha.. she will kill me for this).

A great weekend, great friends, and friggen cold weather to boot!

A Quiet Night out, Turned A BIT CRAZY...

Met up with Hero at her house for a great glass of wine, and to meet her friend Dawn. We chilled, chatted and then walked over to the Mackenzie (BURR!!).

A few drinks later, we had it in our head the Trapper wanted to see us. So there we go, met up with more friends and had a wonderful night. Ah I deserve a good time, since this is my first full weekend off since before Christmas.
