Me in the Big V... VANCOUVER

One advantage of working up here is you get PDI money.. Professional Development money to go out for courses and such (and yes they pay airfare, hotel, course fees etc).. Willie and I took advantage of PDI to get out of Inuvik and discover a new place. Vancouver was the hot spot of choice. We chose a one day Rapid Response conference and stayed a whole week. Booyah! Oh and by the way.. being the nice sister I am, I flew Sarah my sister in for the weekend to meet up with Willie and I (had to pay her back for taking care of my house while I was gone... and yes did want to see her).

Here we go... We started off by leaving March 23rd... a temperature of -18, but sunny from Inuvik Airport. Arrived into Edmonton and then flew over to Vancouver. It was a bit of a cloudy decent into Vancouver, so seeing alot of the mountains was a problem. But I guess that's what happens in Vancouver.. Rain Rain and more Rain.

Willie and I thought, since the hotel money is not coming out of our pockets we would splurge.. so We booked a room at the luxurious Hyatt right smack downtown in Vancouver. Sarah already being in town since 9am was waiting for us in the room.. OH what a beautiful hotel and great room. I don't know how I was ever going to sleep in a low class hotel room again. Hyatt living is the way to go. Just check out the photos. We were so hungry and drooling of the fact that yes we will be able to eat at Swiss Chalet at any point and time, we got changed, and went out for the night.. and no we didn't have swiss chalet that night!! (thanks to Mom and Sarah for sending us 4 swiss chalet sauce packs.. now we can have swiss chalet in Inuvik).
