That's Right... we had to follow the river ourselves to figure out where the ice is broke. As far out of town you can get is Tsiigehtchic (pronounced sigichik).

Hero was delighted to show our southern friend the North, so we piled into the truck with snacks and music, and rode on down the Dempster Hwy.

Lots of ice, but still not clear enough to put in the ferry to go across to Tsiigehtchic. This too was my first time this far on the Dempster Hwy. Not much to see, as it really is the boring part of the hwy, but a well appreciated trip.

You can see the community far across. The community is only a couple hundred people, the church is the main building!
