Today a Great day! Today started saying goodbye to great friends who gathered yet once again at our house for a BBQ around the 2am hour. I love Inuvik for this fact. Everyday could be a BBQ and everyday I could see these great wonderful people in my life if it meant watching a movie, playing a round or two of Catch Phrase (I think the greatest game created), bonfires on the water and whatever our little hearts desire. Its great.

With only about 19 days left in town, I am sad. I want to leave, but I don't want to leave. I have created a life I enjoy in this small town, with friends who I find are unique and wonderful in every way. Everyone is so different and teaches each and everyone of us their way of life and thinking. Being such a tight knit "northern family" we rub off on each other, saying slogans of one person and acting in the same crazy way as another. Its great... and so different than home in one sense. Inuvik is a place where you will be loved for who you are, what you are and not for what you have or what you wear. I love this fact. Walking downtown in an unmatched shirt or grubby shorts just doesn't matter here. And really, will I wear my tacky pink rubber boots at home--- I hope so, but highly doubt it unless I'm down on the river fishing!

Willie and I walked downtown together to go "shopping" in all of 3 stores, grabbed a monster rocket Popsicle and did a bit of grocery shopping. As we walked I realized this place has been so good to me over the last year. Where else can you walk downtown and recognize if not know almost everyone! A wave here, a Hello there.. its great. Truly one in a million. Thank you Inuvik for making me who I am, and letting me take a piece of you with me for life!
