Ketchikan was the first port we docked at. We arrived around 7am and could leave the ship around 8am for a day to ourselves on land. The port was already taken by 3 other boats so we had a little extra fun in getting off. They lowered the life boats from the ship, and we had to board onto them, which took us across to the dock where we could venture out for the day. The life boats looked like little orange blobs in the water... at least we knew they worked!
This was my favourite city/town on the trip. Jody and I had not had anything planned to do at this port. We decided we would just play it minute by minute on what we did. I ended up becoming the tour guide, finding a map that took you on the "Historic Trail" all around the city. As Jody says... I am the best tour guide ever!", and he would be a return customer!..hahahaha.. Our favorite part was walking on this path as seen above in the picture. It was called "Married Man's Trail". Still don't know why, but that's what it was called. It wandered all around the water where salmon swim up in the summer, along cute little coloured houses, shops and more. Just a quaint little area all together. We could have walked for hours up and down the big hills of the 4 streets Ketchikan. We even saw an ULU!! (jokes for you Jody)

the beautiful habour- what boat do you want?

We laughed and laughed at this Bar.. "happy bears"
