Yes We did see Aklavik,

What I was expecting.. not too sure.. what I saw.. still not to sure!

A whole lotta nothing. Aklavik has been hit with many floods. The former site of the Hospital for the Beaufort-Delta Region use to be on Aklavik land. But then moved due to "Aklavik Sinking" and it was that, that brought it to higher ground.. Inuvik. I guess someday we will see Aklavik completely taken over by water. The last major flood was in 2006 I believe, and people were told to relocate. Many who have lived only in Aklavik find this hard, and still to this day remain in the community. I guess it will take alot for them to move!

And that was it.. A few schools, houses, a very small NorthMart, a craft store (too bad it was closed), Churches, Post Office, and somewhere a Health Centre!
