JUNEAU

We docked in Juneau in the early hours of Tuesday June 5th. Juneau is the Capital City of Alaska, and known for its gold and government and also its breathtaking beautiful glaciers and stunning views of both water and mountain. In Juneau we had arranged to do the Trek and Tram. A guided hike around a trail and then we went up the tramway system to the top where we could see out over Juneau. The first time we went up the tram we saw nothing but fog. Couldn't even see 10 feet ahead of you.. so no luck there. Went back down to try it again later!

Jody and I found a deal. 6 dollars for a one way ride to the Mendenhall Glacier. This was our first glacier we saw on the trip. I think we took about 50 pictures each of the glacier like it was going to be the only glacier we saw ... NOT.... It was beautiful. It was so blue in spots.. bluer than blue.
And beside the Glacier was a huge waterfall. We did a hike of our own around one of the trails. Saw no bears, but saw the glacier get bigger and bigger as we hiked up and up. It was amazing..

Later on we enjoyed a beer, well I did, and Jody a pop at the "3rd Original location of the Red Dog Saloon" Alaskan Amber or Alaskan Blond is great beer!
