AMAZING...

That's all we both can say about GLACIER BAY!!

Princess is one of the cruise lines that offers Glacier viewing. We headed into the Glacier Bay area which is known for their glaciers. Marjorie, the Grand Pacific and the John Hopkins are just 3 of the many we saw. They were amazing. Some parts of them are so blue. We actually got a map delivered in the mail (to our state rooms- that's right mail everyday in our little mailbox), which showed the glacier formation, information about the glaciers and also markings of the retreating stages in the glacier life cycle. We travelled in the Fjord, a waterway where once a glacier covered, to view many of them. We stopped the ship close by one of them for photo's and also to take in the great beauty of them. We were able to observe the glacier calving, meaning falling off of pieces of ice into the water. Wow what a noise that made. It almost sounded like loud thunder, and then all you heard was cracking and moving of the glacier.

The colour and size was amazing
see how it compares to the ship..
ship was small compared to the glacier

calving as it happens!

Little bears... if you can see them down on shore... 2 brown bears..
